    Leake County School District has launched its 2025 Comprehensive Needs Assessment survey.  This survey is designed to seek opinions and ideas from parents and community members, as well as from faculty, staff, and students. The questions assess the status of the district in areas like family and community outreach, curriculum and instruction, and school facilities and organization. The survey is brief and will only take a few minutes to complete. The surveys will be available until May 23, 2025.


    The results of the survey will be compiled into a report that also analyzes test score trends and other school success measures. The district will then use this report for strategic planning, for administering federal programs that require an annual comprehensive needs assessment, and for examining current school and district practices.

    The Welcome to the Leake County School District where we Rise to the Challenge for our students! The Leake County School District is a rural school system with an approximate enrollment of 2400 students. The Leake County School District offers a comprehensive instructional program for students located on five campuses. These five campuses' locations are: three campuses located within the city limits of Carthage and two campuses located in Walnut Grove. The District’s mission is to provide a high quality education that will increase the learning of all students. The Leake County School District encourages a high-quality education that is both nurturing and challenging while advocating positive attitudes and respect.     For the 2025-2026 school year, Leake County School District is searching for any newly formed private or parochial schools within its district boundaries. Anyone having information regarding any newly formed private or parochial schools, please email me any information on or before Friday, February 14, 2024.
